Seafood Services Australia PDF Print E-mail
An innovative approach is being developed by Seafood Services Australia to enable industry workers to better understand and comply with new industry standards relating to seafood supply chain management systems.

An area of significant change being faced by the Australian seafood industry is integrating into work practices new legislation and standards on various aspects of handling seafood. Seafood workers at all levels and across the supply chain will require a significant amount of re-training.  A new approach to providing nationally accredited training to seafood industry workers is required, as engagement by the seafood industry workforce with traditional structured training is low.   For this industry e-learning demonstration, Seafood Services Australia will lead and manage a consortium to develop an e-learning centre. Two private RTOs, one in SA and one in Victoria will be significant players in the consortium. This centre will use on-line flexible delivery and will enhance the life-long learning industry workers undertake at the workplace.  The concept has application across the agri-food industry.
