This e-learning demonstration was developed from a collaborative effort by specialist project parties. HJ Heinz Aust and Simplot Aust brought industry-based technical information to this project. As our RTO partner, Workplace Learning Initiatives brought their e-learning instructional design expertise as well as their knowledge of the national standards. Learning Seat brought our project to life with their multi media development experts. They also provided the generic shop front and the web-based Learning Management System; the platform from where the training is launched.
The objective of our demonstration was to explore e-learning as a genuine, viable training solution to provide essential underpinning knowledge required by Food Processing employees. Taking 4 of the 5 core units from the Certificate 2 in Food Processing we developed 6 short blocks of e-learning all complemented with Workplace Learning and Assessment Activities, which allow the learning to be applied in specific workplaces. Each online block takes between 25 – 35 minutes to complete. Once completed a trainee could demonstrate competency in;
• FDFCORHS2A Implement Occupational Health and Safety Systems
• FDFCORQAS2A Implement Quality Systems and Procedures
• FDFCORFSY2A Implement the Food Safety Program and Procedures
• FDFCORWCM2A Present and Apply Workplace Information
This industry e-learning demonstration has been produced on behalf of the Australian Flexible Learning Framework, the national training system’s e-learning strategy. The views expressed herein do not necessarily represent the views of the Commonwealth of Australia.
